To achieve your research goals
We value direct dialogue and building a relationship of trust through laboratory visits.
We aim to provide flexible support according to your situation. We will build a relationship with you, as well as with the supporting and promoting department of your university or research institution, so as to facilitate smooth and easy communication.
Screening Committee Members in specialized fields available for consultation upon researcher’s request
You can consult with one of our Screening Committee Members in your area of expertise to help you with any problems or issues that may arise in conducting your research. The advice of our Screening Committee Members helps researchers solve problems and opens up new avenues of research.
Patent-related training from experts in Canon Inc.’s Intellectual Property Department
An intellectual property strategy is also important for the social implementation of your research results. Canon Inc.’s Intellectual Property Department provides training on intellectual property to assist with this. The training is also useful as a forum for participants to receive direct advice on issues that they face from the lecturers, as well as a forum for information exchange between researchers.

To promote exchange between researchers
We hold gatherings to promote interaction and exchange between past grant recipients, Screening Committee Members and other interested parties.
We view the Canon Foundation and our Research Grant recipients as one big community. Every December, we provide a forum where researchers can interact openly across disciplines. We hope this serves as an opportunity to promote further research activities by our grant recipients through the development of new areas of research and networking.
